A Revolution in Lifeguarding.

The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) Partnered with Ferno to develop a ground-breaking Pool Extraction Board (PXB) which represents the latest in lifeguarding technology.

Designed specifically for lifeguards and operators, it provides significantly faster rescue times, improved safety, and reduces demands on staff. The innovation requires just two trained users to carry out a pool rescue for deck-level pools, and three trained users for freeboard pools (max freeboard depth 30cms) as opposed to the traditional four users. This means fewer lifeguards are drawn into a rescue, enabling them to continue to monitor other swimmers and perform key roles in a rescue situation. The versatile board can be used with or without a freeboard and at any depth. A rescue using the new Pool Extraction Board can be accomplished in as little as 90 seconds.

The new aquaboard PXB has also been designed to work around existing pool lifeguard techniques for seamless training and integration through the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).

This board replaces the aquaboards and spinal boards.

What’s in the box 

The Ferno PXB is shipped in a cardboard packing box. Inside the box along with the board itself, you will find the neoprene anti-slip mat, head and body restraint straps and a set of headblocks. Before assembly check that all items are present;

• PXB red board with attached rubberised anchor mat
• Neoprene anti-slip mat
• A set of 5 colour-coded body restraint straps
• 2 x headblocks + 1 headstrap
• Wall mount bracket
• User manual

Warranty

• Ferno products are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years
• Soft goods (webbing, vinyl, fabric, foam, etc.) are warranted for 90 days

Product Lifespan

The Pool Extraction Board (PXB) is a Class 1 Medical Device with an expected life span of 10 years*.

*This is dependent upon usage, general wear and tear, the humidity of the conditions the boards are stored, chemicals they come in to contact with etc. It is the responsibility of the operator to ensure that they carry out checks on the board to determine the condition.
